The MacKenzie transport group provide a range of delivery, garage, logistics and haulage services.
The company work with a number of large companies and public sector organisations, many of whom have procurement processes that specify a requirement to have a registered quality management system.
The company have been ISO 9001 registered for about 10 years and decided to transfer away from a UKAS accredited certification company to iso assured.

 

The company already had a fully implemented and certificated management system and iso assured were able to conduct a basic review of the current system to ensure it was meeting the requirements of the standard and had been kept up to date.

The company were successfully awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification following a simplified and low cost assessment route we have in place for clients who are already registered with another certification company.

The company now benefit from having a much more flexible iso registration where they are able to choose as and when they have an external assessor / consultancy visit to assist them, provide audits and review systems. This has led to considerable savings to the business both in terms of cost and time.

 

"Last year we decided to drop our UKAS approved certificate because we decided the costs outweighed any benefit to the business. We have now transferred to iso assured who provide us with a much more cost effective solution that still carries all the benefits of certification.

We still think getting someone in to review our systems is a good idea but now we can chose when they come in, how long a visit we need and at a much lower cost. The fact that we can get consultancy and assessment at the same time is a big improvement also.

A few of our clients ask to see our 9001 certificate every year and since we transferred to iso assured last year none of them have commented or cared that our new certificate is not UKAS, its made no difference whatsoever.

Before we transferred to iso assured I didn't realise there was an alternative to UKAS accredited certification. My only regret is that we didn't transfer our certificate over to iso assured many years ago."
